DU Admission Without CUET: Mop-Up Round Based on Class 12th Marks
Delhi University Admission 2025: For the academic session 2025-26, Delhi University (DU) has announced that the final round of admissions for undergraduate programs will be based on Class 12th marks. A CUET score will not be mandatory for this round.
To fill vacant seats in Science and several other courses, DU is starting a **mop-up round** from Thursday. The responsibility of filling these seats has been given to the individual colleges. Until now, all undergraduate admissions in DU were based on CUET scores.
Key Dates and Application Fee
The list of vacant seats will be displayed by 5:00 PM on September 4th. Students interested in this round can apply online from **September 4th to September 7th**.
- Application Fee: ₹250 for General/OBC/EWS categories and ₹100 for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
- Mop-Up Fee: An additional fee of ₹1,000 will be charged.
- Seat Allocation by Colleges: September 8th to 11th.
- Last Date for Fee Payment: September 13th.
Who Can Apply?
According to DU's Dean of Admissions, Professor Haneet Gandhi, students who had previously applied but were not allocated a seat do not need to re-apply. They can simply edit their profile and data. However, students who never applied on DU's Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal now have a chance to get a seat based on their Class 12th marks.
Important: Students who have already been admitted to any DU program based on their CUET score are not eligible to participate in this mop-up round.
How Colleges Will Conduct Admissions
Colleges will follow this process for the mop-up round:
- Colleges will start shortlisting candidates from September 8th based on merit (best of 4 subjects in Class 12th, including one language).
- If there's a tie in marks, the tie-breaking rules mentioned in the CSAS will apply.
- A student may receive offers from multiple colleges but can only accept one.
- Once a student accepts an offer, they must pay the fees within two days.
- If a student later gets a better offer, they can cancel their current admission and accept the new one by paying the difference in fees.
- Students must provide an affidavit stating they are not admitted to any other DU college.
All admissions in the mop-up round will be conducted exclusively through the official portal: ugadmission.uod.ac.in.
